Alexandria, La. (April 30, 2024)—The boil advisory that was issued for the Tulane Ave area has been lifted, as confirmed by authorities. This advisory was put in place due to repairs on a 12-inch water main, which necessitated precautionary measures. Barrett Dezendorf, Superintendent of Water Operations, stated, "The State of Louisiana has tested the water, and the results of the tests are clear."

The Alexandria Water Department has officially lifted the boil advisory for businesses and residents located specifically along Tulane Ave. In light of this development, the City of Alexandria has outlined a series of steps to be taken by those in the affected areas.

It is recommended that businesses and residences in the mentioned location:

- Run cold-water faucets for one minute

- Run drinking water fountains for one minute

- Flush automatic icemakers (make three batches of ice and discard)

- Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle

- Run water coolers with direct water connections for five minutes
